Advice:
The center provides policy advises and briefings to its
stakeholders which include decision-makers at national and
international levels, public sector people, business
leaders, politicians, NGOs, trade bodies, and others.
Economic
and Trade
Policy Issues:
The center is also involved with public policies and development
intervention strategies. Provides research and analytical
supports in the field of economic policy for social justice.
Examines the impacts of these policies on the people, and to
explore alternative approaches. Takes into account the
processes and policies that influence national and regional
development in the global economic context. The
institutional policies, government policies, market
structures and policies, distributional polices,
international trade and finance issues, etc. are also taken
into consideration towards economic development and welfare.
Sector
and Sub-sectoral Studies:
The center undertakes sectoral /sub-sectoral industry
Studies and generate reports.
Issues
relating to international / regional trade and economic
institutions, trade bodies and associations, etc. :
In discharging its activities the center also takes into
account the activities of World Bank, Asian Development
Bank, International Monetary Fund, Islamic Development Bank,
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development
(OECD), ESCAP, South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA), Bay of
Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic
Co-operation Free Trade Area (BIMSTEC FTA), Agreement on
Trade Negotiation among Developing Member Countries of the
Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific
(Bangkok Agreement), Trade Preferential System Among the
Member Countries of the OIC (TPS-OIC), etc.
