The Center for Applied Sciences (CAS) is a new initiative under the umbrella of IITM. Through this Center, we will work on finding application focused scientific innovations that may be successfully implemented in Bangladesh or elsewhere. A certain focus on incubation will be inherent to the workings of CAS. Researchers, scholars, innovative graduate and undergraduate students, and professionals will be brought into the broad scope of operation of this Center.

CAS will carryout its activities through participatory research, enabling a large segment of population to benefit and share their knowledge and findings with CAS. We will promote an open culture of information dissemination and knowledge transfer. The project details will be regularly updated and posted in this section of the portal.

The Center will also work to raise awareness and advocate programs of scientific and sustainable benefits to the society.  To chart new directions in applied sciences, CAS will carryout and sponsor original research, field-level scientific surveys, conferences and seminars involving policy makers, members of the public and national and international organizations.
