Skills Development Initiative
- SDI
IITM offers distinct
opportunity for Graduates of Bangladesh through Skills
Development Initiative -SDI
Graduates of Bangladesh have
significant, yet unexplored potentials. At various
universities and college they train in theoretical
dimensions. Unfortunately, they lack in practical skill,
resulting in having difficulty finding a decent job. Our
Skills Development Initiative has started to address these
deficiencies. We are have started to work with organizations
to find their requirement and arrange practical and
application focused trainings for an aspiring graduate
candidate. We taking inputs from a diverse population base.

IITM has been developing a
Center for Environment (CE) where a multitude of
environmental issues are being addressing under the center.

Center for Trade, Economic Policy
and Research -CTEPR
At IITM, we are starting this
Center to contribute meaningfully in the areas of trade,
commerce, business, policies and legal issues of relevance.
We intend to research and develop proposals, implement
programs and advocate on issues of importance for Bangladesh
and the region in general. More details are available at

IITM is starting IELTS & International Placements
IELTS is a globally accepted
test for gauging English Proficiency.. We have just
introduced our IELTS program in addition to our popular
Communicative English (CE) Program. International
placement is a necessary extension to global placements
after IELTS and therefore, we will provide the additional
service.
Training Series being ran for General Pharmaceuticals
We conducted a series of
trainings for General Pharmaceuticals Ltd. towards the end
of 2005. We worked with their sales and marketing team and
conducted trainings on Customer Care & Team Building for
territory managers and senior marketing executives from
various parts of the country. In total 60 professionals were
trained.
IITM organized a special training on Customer Care and
Professional Selling
During the early months of 2006,
we concluded another
training on Customer Care & Professional Selling at our own
premises where we had a wonderful mixture of professionals
coming from various walks of life. Chowdhury Quaseed was the
lead trainer for the session and delivered an impacting
training.
IITM participated in
Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) Fair 2005.
IITM participated in the
largest computer fair of the country (Sept. 22-27, 2005).
IITM introduced an archive
for Journals
We have initiated an Archive
program where we will have a good selection of articles,
journals, research, whitepapers, documents, reports,
training material and scholarly publications for viewing.
Other News
IITM concludes three impact
studies on Markets & livelihoods.
They were: a) on Srimongol,
Sylhet region, b) Natore, Rajshahi region, and c)
Khagrachori, CHT region. These extensive studies covered
review of socio-economic conditions to general issues of
vocational training and current state of capacity building
in the area for
We also visited Chittagong &
Sylhet through a fair organized by British Council, Dhaka
where a great of participants visited our stall.
We organized two
international trainings in 2005 and conducted by International
consultant and trainer Dr. Upali Mahanama of Srilanka. The
training focus were on Leadership Development.
IITM organized a training
workshop on the 27th January, 2006 on the topic of
"Effective Communication and Professional Selling."
