century. And it is recognized and valued the world
over. By completing the CIMA qualification you
will show to employers that your skills set is

developed key decision-making, management,
strategic and analytical skills.
Year after
year, the world’s most prestigious employers put
CIMA at the top of their list of preferred
business qualifications. CIMA is your passport to
career success in any field you choose: commerce,
financial services, consultancy, government, the
public sector, or manufacturing. By becoming a
member of the Chartered Institute of Management
Accountants (CIMA), you will attain the world’s
most prestigious qualification for strategic and
financial management. It is your true global
currency.
CIMA Syllabus The CIMA
syllabus offers a dynamic mix of practical and
strategic subjects designed to give you the
cutting edge in financial management.
Studying for and passing CIMA exams means
improving your career development prospects all
the time. Upon successful completion of the
Foundation exams you will receive the
CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and
on completion of the Intermediate level you will
receive the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management
Accounting. To become a Chartered Management
Accountant (ACMA) you must complete all three
levels and gain three years of relevant practical
experience. You may find that your existing
academic or professional qualifications have given
you sufficient knowledge in some areas and may
exempt you from having to complete certain exams.
An entry point to start your CIMA program depends
on your academic background. Please check with us
or at
http://www.cimaglobal.com/ for specific
details on entry point.
* Practical
Experience You must gain at least three
years’ relevant practical experience before you
can achieve your Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA)
status. Your practical experience must cover three
areas: Basic, Core and Supplementary (see
Requirements page). It not expected to cover
every element within each area, but you will need
to gain wide experience across all three areas.
The only requirement is that you get at least 18
months of your experience within the Core area.
You will record your practical experience as part
of your ‘Career Profile’. It is recommended that
you update this regularly. After passing your
final exams, you will have five years in which to
submit your completed Career Profile and apply for
CIMA membership.
