CHAIRMAN
Commodore M. Ataur Rahman, a highly
regarded change agent, planner and management specialist is the
Chairman of International Institute of Technology & Management. He
had been the longest running Chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh (14
years) and had been the architect of its meteoric rise over all
other banks in Bangladesh. He was also the Chairman of Bangladesh
Association of Banks (BAB), which he conceived in the late 90s. He
is the Chairman of the Coordination Body of all Private Universities
in Bangladesh. He is the Chairman of Faisal Investment Foundation –
a socially responsible development organization in Bangladesh. He is
also the founding Director of IBN Sina Trust and the Chairman of
Manarat Trust; he is the Founding Chairman of both CSPS ( Centre for
Strategic Peace Studies) and Naya Diganto Media Corporation. He has
also 12 books published under his name and is also a Rotarian for
over 20 years.
He had held distinguished positions in
the Government of Bangladesh and had been Secretary to the
Government of Bangladesh. During different tenures, he was the
Chairman of Tariff Commission, Chairman of Mongla Port Authority,
Chairman Trading Corporation of Bangladesh and Chairman Bangladesh
In-land Water Transport Corporation. He was also the conceiver and
the first Chairman of the Consultative Committee of Public
Enterprises (CONCOPE). It was the apex coordinating body of all
public enterprises.
His illustrious career goes back to the
roots of military service. He was the senior most Navy Official and
retired as a Commodore to Bangladesh Navy. He was also the Deputy
Naval Advisor to UK under Pakistan Navy during 1965-1970.
Academically, he is a Shibpur Engineering College graduate having a
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has additional
specialization in Marine Engineering from Plymouth, UK. He is the
Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers (London) and has a MOT
first-class.

Executive Officer
Ziaur Rahman has a strong foundation in
the field of economics, management specialization and marketing.
With a Bachelors degree in Economics and a Masters Degree in
Business Administration, he brings with him national & international
experience of more than 10 years as management consultant,
university teacher and strategic manager of fortune 100 companies.
Educated in the US, he brings an innovative perspective in managing
businesses and developing new product or service ideas. He has lived
and traveled extensively in the US, Europe and other parts of the
world, where he also worked for over 3 years. He had been credited
to manage client engagements running into many millions of dollars.
His entrepreneurial zest had allowed him to understand the global
marketplace; at one point in life, he also ran an international
trade business which helped him to understand bank practices
relating to international trade. In addition to IITM, he is the
Managing Director and founding partner of beekree.com Ltd. and
founding Partner of IITM and IITM Software. He had worked in the US
as a Management Consultant for Ernst & Young Cap Gemini, Contract
Consultant for Enron Capital & Trade (ECT) and as Asst. Manager for
a division of Pepsi-Cola Ltd. Mr. Rahman also has project management
experience in the IT sector.

Partner
Sohail M. Wahid is one of the
founder-Partner of IITM. He holds an MBA and has been in Business
for more than 15 years. He represents some US/European and Asian
companies in Bangladesh. In addition to his portfolio of business,
he specializes in offering printing and packaging service in the
Pharmaceutical sector. He also offers different companies and
organizations market promotion, branding positioning and logistics
service. Steeped in practical business experience, he adds a vital
dimension to the consulting effort of IITM. He is the founding
partner and CFO of IITM. He is also a Partner of IITM Software and
Unimart Trade International. He started his career with Transcom
Ltd.
Saleh Abdullah is one of the Founders of
IITM and IITM Software. He holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce. He
has commendable business experience in Bangladesh having a strong
exposure in trading, printing a packaging industry and other
industry segments. He is also a Director of Saiham Jute Mills and
exporter of Jute yarns to many different countries. He brings close
to 20 years of entrepreneurship, dedication and experience to IITM.
He focuses on policy initiatives and guides IITM in many different
capacities and engagement areas. He started his career in the Ship
Chartering industry and gained considerable expertise in the field
and ventured soon after in the world of business. He is widely
traveled and also has international trading partners in China, UK,
USA, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc. He is also the
representative of some industrial corporations of USA/Europe and
Asia in Bangladesh that conduct business in Bangladesh and
elsewhere.
Partner In Business Incubation
Faruk Ahmed with a Masters in Computer
Applications and a Bachelor in Physics brings a solid ICT
perspective to IITM and IITM Software. He is the CEO and Partner of
IITM Software and a consultant and strategic partner to IITM in area
of Information Technology. He comes with strong project Management
Experience in IT and worked as the Head of Computer Division Ahsania
Mission, Bangladesh as ICT Specialist. He also had worked in
different organizations as a Network Systems Analyst and Project
Coordinator and had actually begun his career as a Programmer. He is
trained in multiple languages and operates in various platforms with
heavy involvement in MQSQL and PHP language. Through his valuable
ICT project management experience and local and international
network in the field of ICT, he adds a strategic dimension to IITM.
IITM Resource Person
Enamul Ahsan having a Ph.D. in Economics
in the field of International Trade with B.Com (Hons.), M.Com
degrees. Also completed a Policy Evaluation Course for Senior /
Mid-level Advisers from the Centre for International Economics,
Canberra, Australia in 1992.
He admirably performed his
responsibilities for long 30 years holding various positions in the
Government concerning economic, trade and industrial policy issues
as Research Officer in the ITO Wing of the Ministry of Commerce,
Assistant Economic Adviser, Ministry of Finance, Director (EPS),
Trade and Industrial Policy Reform Programme, Tariff Commission,
Ministry of Commerce, Director, Institutional Development of Tariff
Commission and Joint Chief, Tariff Commission, Ministry of Commerce.
He also attended and actively
participated in the study tours, seminar/workshops and conferences
at the national, regional and international levels. Important ones
include:
1. Study Tour in USA in 1984 under the
Trade and Industrial Policy (TIP), Reform Program and acquired first
hand knowledge about the role of the various institutions namely,
the Harvard Institute of International Development (HIID) in Boston,
The United States Sea Customs in New York and the United States
International Trade Commission (USITC) and the World Bank in
Washington D.C.
2. International Workshop held in New
Delhi, India from 27-3-1995 to 6-4-1995 on “Anti-dumping and
Countervailing Measures” organised by the WTO.
3. Study Tour in December 1995 to the
various International Organizations namely, the WTO, the UNCTAD and
ITC in Geneva, Switzerland. In the WTO attended several lecture
sessions relating to the various Uruguay Round Agreements and
actively participated in the various discussion sessions to know the
implications of these agreements particularly with regard to LDC
countries including Bangladesh. Similarly, in UNCTAD discussed
various issues and the changed role of UNCTAD following the Uruguay
Round Agreements.
4. Study Tour in December-January,
1996-1997 to the various organizations in Malaysia namely, the
Malaysian Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED), Malaysian
Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), Ministry of International
Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Malaysia External Trade
Development Corporation (MATRADE). The study tour was extremely
beneficial, as this has helped gaining first hand knowledge from the
experiences of Malaysia regarding the benefits of trade
liberalization.
5. Regional Workshop on Implementation
of the TRIPS AGREEMENT, held in DHAKA in December 2002 jointly
organized by WIPO-WTO. Participants from Asia-Pacific regions took
part in this workshop.
6. Workshop on Training of Trainers on
Public International Trade Law, Asia-Pacific Region jointly
organized by WTO/IDLO held in Sydney, Australia, from 09-30 May
2003.
7. Participated as Expert from
Bangladesh to the UNCTAD’s Session on Ad hoc Working Group on Trade
Efficiency held in Geneva in November 1992 and submitted report To
the Government pin pointing the follow up actions for Bangladesh.
